Since 2014, Datum RPO have held their 9001 & 14001 approval, and over the years have always complied with the stringent standards that the worldwide accreditation dictates.

In March 2018, Datum RPO transferred over to the new 2015 standards and had ACS Registrars externally audit our processes and procedures. Both internal and external audits ensure that we remain consistent and provide a first class service to our clients.

What is ISO 9001:2015?

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). Organisations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

An ISO 9001 quality management system shows that you provide products and services of consistent quality; shows that you provide products and services that meet the customer’s requirements, comply with the law and legislation, and meet the organisations' own requirements; can help you streamline your business processes and continuously improve them.

Important changes in the new ISO 9001:2015 standard:

The most recent ISO 9001:2015 standard is constructed around seven quality management principles:

  • customer focus;
  • leadership;
  • engagement of people;
  • process approach;
  • improvement;
  • evidence-based decision making;
  • relationship management.

What is ISO 14001:2015?

ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). It provides a framework that an organisation can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.

Part of the ISO 14000 family of standards on environmental management, ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard that organisations can certify to. Integrating it with other management systems standards, most commonly ISO 9001, can further assist in accomplishing organisational goals.

The International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) defines an Environmental Management System as “part of the management system used to manage environmental aspects, fulfill compliance obligations, and address risks and opportunities.

Important changes in the new ISO 14001:2015 standard:

The key changes relate to:

  • Increased prominence of environmental management within the organisations' strategic planning processes;
  • Greater focus on leadership;
  • Addition of proactive initiatives to protect the environment from harm and degradation, such as sustainable resource use and climate change mitigation;
  • Improving environmental performance added;
  • Lifecycle thinking when considering environmental aspects;
  • Addition of a communications strategy.
